What to do in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

Are you looking for something to do in Kelowna, well the choices are pretty much endless. There’s plenty to do for all ages. From walking, sitting on the beaches, hiking, Kettle Valley Train ride, horseback riding, or spend a leisurely day of winery tours at one of the many local wineries like Mission Hill, or Gray Monk Estate. Then check out some of the art galleries & museums. There are even waterslides on the Westside. Another populare thing to do is rent a motorhome or go camping in one of the many campgrounds.

If none of those ideas peek your interest then perhaps searching for the Ogopogo is more to your liking, or even a day of skiing at one of the local ski hills. There’s a larger world class ski hill, Big White, or the smaller Crystal Mountain ski hill just west of the city in nearby Westbank BC.

Or if none of those entice your interests, how about a day on one of the majestic golf courses that Kelowna has to offer, you won’t run out of options trying to find which course to play. Kelowna has driving ranges, putting greens, Scandia Golf & Games a mini golf course for all ages, and several 9 hole or 18 hole courses. BC was named the 2007 Best Golf Destination in North America by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, several of which are in the Kelowna area (65 within a 45 minute drive) , 12 of those right in Kelowna. Gallaghers Canyon has been voted the best course in Canada by Score magazine. Kelowna has five other championship courses within a 45 minute drive, and another one under construction.

If you are intrested in hockey, you can watch the Kelowna Rockets who are in the Western Hockey League. They play there home games in Prospera Place and the season is from september to april.

If these still haven’t grabbed your interest then how about renting a ski boat, or a houseboat, or Seadoo’s and spending the day on the lake, as you can see your choices are endless, why not try your luck at fishing. Kelowna and in fact the whole Okanagan Valley is world known for everything it has to offer, and as you can see the list goes on and on.
