Question: I’m planning a trip to Asia next year and one of my stops will be Singapore. I wonder what the age rules are at pubs and clubs there.

Answer: In Singapore you have to be 18 years old to drink alcohol. But most of the clubs have 21 years as ther age rule

Question: I’m going to Thailand in April next year and am possibly wanting to take a short trip to Cambodia. So I am  wondering if I need a visa to go there from Thailand. If so, is it something that I can fix at the border?

Answer: If you go to Cambodia you will need a visa. It’s possible to fix the visa at the border if you arrive at any of the official border checkpoints. The visa is valid for 30 days and costs $20.

Question: We are from Sweden and going to China for ten days. Do we need a visa?

Answer: Yes you need a visa. You can apply either in person at the Chinese embassy or by mail. And remember that your passport has to have two empty pages for stamps and has to be valid for a minimum of 6 months after leaving China.

Question: I am from Sweden and  going to Vietnam for my holidays and am wondering how long my passport must be valid. Can you help me?

Answer: Your passport must be valid for a minimum of 90 days from the day you enter the country. If you are staying for 15 days or less you don’t need a visa.

Question: I’m in China and want to send a package home to Europe. Which is the best way to send it home?

Answer: You can send the package by airmail from the local post office. The cost for up to 10kg is about 75 euro and normally takes 7-10 days to arrive. If you send the package by sea it should cost about 33 euro and can take about 3 months to arrive. You can also send your package by courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc) but it costs much more.

Question: Can you tell me which adapter I need to use when in Japan? What is the wattage they use?

Answer: They use 100volt (50hertz in the eastern part and 60hertz in the western part). The contact is identical with the american one that is not ground (two flat prongs).
